Under the leadership of David Matheson, DMC is a Toronto-based creative media company that specializes in script writing, development, directing, production and songwriting. DMC partners with other creatives and brands to create unique, inspiring projects that communicate brand identity, artistic values and indelible, emotional storytelling. Our goal is to develop collaborative, professional and lasting relationships with our clients.
David Matheson is a multi-faceted writer, musician and filmmaker. David has always been immersed in the written word and obsessed with the culture and ideas that surround it. After completing an education in literature, history, philosophy and screenwriting across four separate institutions in Toronto, London UK and Vancouver, David consolidated his passions, influences and experience into DMC PRODUCTIONS, a creative media company.
With DMC, he’s worked with children’s entertainment company, TBE Inc., adapting their children’s books into screenplays and developing a pilot animatic, as well as MOJO Global Arts, where he specialized in development, writing script coverage and creating pitch decks. During this time, he also honed his musical ambitions into a steady stream of songwriting. To this day, he’s written over 100 songs and self-released his first EP, Welcome to Today, under the name David Jane.
In 2024, after co-producing several short films with colleagues, he self-produced, wrote and directed his own short film, “Apnea”. As “Apnea” completes its festival run, David’s focus has shifted on getting his other projects off the ground, including three features, two pilots, a brand new album and various others including short films, web series, etc. Most of all, David looks forward to continue partnering with diverse creatives and build meaningful relationships that inspire and fuel the passion embedded in the art of storytelling.
